Snowmobile Repair: gas spew turns to no-start, exhaust gaskets, crank case

Question
Help! I have a 1995 Polaris XLT Special with 1,734 miles. Other than one tune up to cure a backfire problem 5-6 years ago, I've never had any trouble with it and it has always started great. I left 1/2 a tank of gas in it over the summer with Stabil. I recently changed the crank case oil and plugs for the season and started it up, but after a few seconds gas started spewing from a tube coming off the side of the left carb that runs up the handelbars! I put a can of Seafoam in the tank, drained the carbs bowl, pulled plugs (clean)but now the sled doesn't start at all. I have since noticed a drip that smells like gas coming from where the exhaust pipe goes into the block. I assume there's a gasket there, but could this be a reason for a no start? It ran fine last year, and actually sounded fine while spewing gas upon initial start up this year. Any suggestions?

Answer
hi jennifer
please forgive my grammer.it looks like you have done the summerize right.but it sounds like your neddle and seats inside your carb are seized. the carb that was spuing gas is the culpret.you may get way with pulling your carbs and cleaning them through. this means cleaning all the passages inside may require complete disassemble.there is an updated neddle and seat for your carbs. if the neddle and seats are black at the tip and made out of  rubber ,those are the updated seats.the reason is the fuel, even though you put stabilizer in the tank it mayhave been old or not enough.it only takes gas 1 month to turn to varnish, depending on quality.also your exhaust gaskets may be leaking. if you notice that there is exhaust or black suit below the manifold then just replace the gaskets. hope i answer your question jennifer.
