Steering Column Repair: re:93 s10 headlight failure, chevy s10, high beam

Question
I have a 93 chevy s10 and the headlights wont turn on i pull back on the turn signal stick to turn from brights to regular beams and nothing happens. The light shows that the vehicle is stuck on high beam but I have no lights on at all. I think the switch is broken but i dont know what part to buy or how to replace. I have a tilt steering wheel with no cruise control. Thanks

gm dimmer switch Hi Manuel:

You are looking for the dimmer switch.  It sound like the switch is either stuck or burned out.  I have enclosed a picture of it and it is located on the bottom of the column, not inside it.  Remove the lower panel under the dash where the steering column is and you will be able to see it mounted on the side of the column.

It's about a $12 part and the only things you need to be careful of are getting the dimmer rod back into the hole in the switch and adjusting it for tension when you install it.
