Steering Column Repair: 93 jeep cherokee ignition, jeep cherokee, chevrolet truck

hello my jeep problem is turn key has power but will not start will not engage starter nothing i changed out ignition switch at base of column still nothing can how ever turn key to on position and jump solinoid and it starts??? please help it is tilt column and i cant get at the cylinder area to check there one piece metal collar thank you Bob

Hi Bob:
It sounds like the lock cylinder is not allowing you to turn the key far enough to start the truck.  You will need to replace the lock cylinder & keys.

They are broken down into step by step 2-3 minute detailed videos with instructions. Although the video is for a Chevrolet truck, the column is very similar to yours.
