Steering Column Repair: steering column, chevrolet truck, astrovan

Question
QUESTION: How do you access the  area beneath the wheel to change ignition, replace turn signal switch, or most important, replace Tilt switch. Wires seem to be caught in the column around these areas, possibly one or more are bare creating a short which keeps discharging the battery.

ANSWER: Hi James:
Before we can go any further, I need to know the year, make & model of your vehicle.
Thanks
Doug

QUESTION: This is a '94 Astrovan 2wd. I managed to make it to the ignition switch, but i find it almost impossible to get to the set screw for the switch.  The other problem is how to get around the tilt handle to do what needs to be done.....and yes it does have an airbag!!!

Answer
Hi James:
Sorry for the delay...family sickness kept me away.
We have recently uploaded some videos on our website to give you first hand viewing of how to remove, disassemble, and reassemble the parts you are talking about. They are broken down into step by step 2-3 minute detailed videos with instructions. Although the video is for a Chevrolet truck, the column is very similar to yours.
