Steering Column Repair: 1992 Buick Park Avenue, buick park avenue, chevrolet truck

Someone recently tried to steal my car and broke into the steering column on the left side.  Is there any way to fix it or is it something that needs to be replaced?  The column is broken and the ignition switch.
