Hi Josh:
Sorry to hear about your truck.  What you are facing is PASS-LOCK anti-theft by GM.  this security system prevent anyone from stealing it, which is why you still have the truck in the first place. So congtrats on that aspect anyhow.

Here's how to program it.
This procedure will take 30 minutes.  There are multiple steps that need to be performed quite accurately and repeated 3 times.  The fourth time you try to start it it should start.
Make sure the battery will withstand 30 minutes of "key-on" time without running dead.  Otherwise you will need to start all over again.
First make sure the column you installed has PASS-LOCK.  I am enclosing a picture of the wires that need to be intact and connected at the housing for the pass lock to work.  If the column you installed does not have this wiring, then don't bother to try and program it, the column is wrong and needs to be replaced with a column that has PASS-LOCK.

Here is the procedure:

1) Turn the key on , attempt to start the truck and release the key leaving it in the "run" position.
The security light should begin to flash.  If it is flashing it will continue to flash for exactly 10 minutes.  After that time, it will go solid for about 5 seconds and then go off. (If it is not flashing, then you have another problem outside my realm)
2) When the light goes off, turn the key off, remove it, open the door and count 5-7 seconds.
3) After the count, insert the key and repeat the procedure a second time.
4) After the second time, repeat the procedure a third time.

5) On the fourth time, the vehicle should start.  If not, then there is still a problem in the column or the wiring to the PASS-LOCK sensor in the column.

Good Luck
