Steering Column Repair: steering column, chevy suburban, shift linkage

Question
how do i remove the steering column on my 1988 chevy suburban? where do i start?

Answer
Hello Michael,
Start under the hood and remove the shift linkage and the bolt holding the steering coupler together. Then remove the small screws holding the boot plate to the floor. Then remove the 2 nuts holding the column to the dash (be careful for the shift indicator wire- unclip it from the column). You can then drop the column down to remove the harnesses. Pretty simple if you're good at acrobatics. :-)
Have a great day!
