Steering Column Repair: steering column 88 suburban, steering column, spare time

my suburban steering column is so loose at this point is it cheaper to repair or replace? it has tilt.

Hello Michael,
It depends on what's loose and how much spare time you have. If the tilt housing is loose (common problem) then you could possibly tighten the bolts and be done with it. But if something broke, then you may or may not be able to get a replacement part and do a complete rebuild.
Just a word of warning, since it is a common problem, make sure the one you get doesn't need rebuilding also if you go that route.
