Steering Column Repair: STEERING COLUMN, weather seal, salvage yard

I HAVE A 92 BUICK REGAL. A MECHANIC SAID I NEED A WEATHER SEAL BOOT. CAN THIS BE REPLACED OR WILL I HAVE TO PURCHASE A NEW STEERING COLUMN.

Hi and sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I went to answer your question but was unable to due to server backup.

To answer your specific question you should NOT have to replace the whole column. The boot can be purchased separately or you may be able to find one in a salvage yard in decent shape.
