Subaru Repair: repair, caskets, gaskets

recently been told i need two head caskets repaired...my car is a 2004 Forester, 220,000 miles,,yes 220,000 miles....I own 6k on the car,,,they tell me it will cost $1.500.00 to repair,,is that a fair price???....also how long can i get by,  by not repairing the caskets,,,any advice.

If you need the gaskets replaced you will most likely only cause your self more money and pain by trying to put it off.

I have no idea how significant the leaks are to make that determination for you.


$1500.. is probably about right.
