Subaru Repair: 2000 subaru Outback Legacy Transmission, Subaru transmission problems

Question
I drained the tranny and filter.  Put the plug back in, filter back on and went to pour fluid into the pipe where the dip stick is and it took about 2 quarts and is full, but the car won't shift into any gear.  I know I drained at least a gallon and a half out of the tranny.  How do I get it to take the new fluid?

Answer
Hey Roe,

Your Subaru has two fill points one for the transmission and one for the front differential.  Which one are you filling?  The transmission fill is on the Drivers side.

Are you checking the fluid while running in park?

What you are describing is not common at all.
