Subaru Repair: 1997 subaru forester, subaru forester, flu bug

Question
where can i find the temperature sensor for inside a 1997 subaru forester

Answer
Hey Anthony,

Sorry it has taken so long to get back to you but I am fighting the flu bug this week as are my kids.

Anyway to your question, are you talking about the temperature sensor for the cooling system? Or are you talking about the inside or outside temperature sensor for the overhead display or some of the "S" models even have a display in leu of the dash board cubby.

In the case of the later I can honestly admit that since the forester came out in 1998 I have seen only a small handful of the "S" models with inside temperature displays. And fewer, that had a problem that required any type of reason to look for a sensor. So While I am thinking the sensor is in the display I may be wrong.  If we are talking about the cooling temperature sensor it is located in the coolant cross over pipe at the top of the engine below the intake manifold on the passenger side of the engine.
