Subaru Repair: shuddering when turning on power, clutch disks, subaru outback

Question
i read another answer of yours about putting a fuse in the underhood FWD box, tried it and the shuddering was gone.so it is the MPT clutch's. Now is this a repairable setup "ie, replace the tailstock" or is it more involved as in replace entire transmission? Or possibly fluid change? any help would be appreciated. 1997 subaru outback impreza sport wagon w/ auto trans. thanks

Answer
It is repairable. The are clutch disks located in the rear of transmission. also need to replace the transfer solenoid. I would recommend having a trained technician do this, as it involves taking apart the rear of the transmission. This clutches are very similiar to that of the clutches on a motorcycle.
