Subaru Repair: Subaru Baja brake service, slide pins, straight forward procedure

Question
Cannot find a Baja shop manual and need to replace front and rear pads on 2003 Baja.  Will another Subaru model (Forester, Outback, etc.)shop manual suffice?  Are there any secrets, hints or things I should be prepared for in doing this job?

Answer
The Baja is the same platform as the Legacy and Outback. So one of those manuals will work for you.Its a pretty straight forward procedure .I will caution you to make sure you use good quality parts and make sure you lube the caliper slide pins.If you elect to machine the rotors just try and make sure they are above minimum thickness specs.Or you could end up with a pulsation problem later.Hope that helps you
