Subaru Repair: no heat after water pump/radiator replacement, radiator hoses, replacing a water pump

Question
I just finished replacing a water pump, thermostat and radiator in a 93 Loyale. I am no longer getting heat from the heater core.  I followed the 2 - 3000 rpm for 5+ min to clear air bubbles advice but still get no heat to heater core.  Radiator hoses are hot after driving but heater core hoses are warm at best. Also car seems to be running "too cool" according to instrument panel gauge but don't know if it is because of new radiator , pump and thermostat. Any advice???

Answer
This is a tough one. How bad was the cooling system before you did the repair? Any chance the heater core is clogged? Are both hoses to the heater core not so hot? Usually, if you havent filled the cooling system correctly, and there is air in the system, the car runs hot. Did you fill the cooling system at the radiator? On most Subarus you have to take the upper hose off and fill the cooling system from there or there is a screw on the top of the radiator, opposite side from the cap, that you can remove. Fill the radiator at the small hole until you see coolant topping off at the radiator cap fill area. Try this only when the system is cooled. Other than that, I am not sure. Try me back here with more details if you get them. Z
