Subaru Repair: Impreza problems, mass air flow meter, mass air flow

I own a '95 Impreza w/automatic transmission, only 70K mileage. Lately I've been having problems starting the car. It happens 2-3 times a week. The engine would rotate but it wouldn't start, the problem would continue for 15-30 minutes, after that it's fine. I took it to several repair shops and they couldn't figure out what the problem was. Also, sometimes the engine stalls when idle or at low speed, I thought it might be connected with the problem I described above.

  Thats is really hard to tell without looking at it. Sounds like one possibility could be the mass air flow meter. I have seen these go bad, and not set a code in the computer. Have someone check that for you. It's a place to start. I hope this helps.
