Suzuki Repair: Vaccuum line 1992 Geo tracker, vent hose, geo tracker

Question
I am working on a 1992 Geo Tracker and I have noticed what looks like a vaccuum line that comes up from the transmission and ends right under the distributor housing. This is a 4WD tracker with an automatic transmission. The Vaccuum hose is not connected to anything. Is this correct? If not, where is it supposed to connect?

Answer
I believe what you are looking at is the vent hose for the transmission or transfer case.  It goes that high to prevent the incursion of water into the gearboxes when going through a stream or the like.  It's supposed to go "nowhere".  Those usually have a rather unusual looking cap on the top.
