Towing Issues: Neighbors broken down vehicles, derelict vehicles, parkersburg wv

Question
Hi Richard:

Hoping you can help me.  I live in Parkersburg, WV and I have neighbors who live across the street.  These are very nice people but they allow their grown children to dominate their household.  They have allowed a grandson and a daughter to have broken down vehicles towed in front the property next door to them...mind you, not even their property.

One has been sitting for two years, the other for 6 months at least.  They have no license plates, pieces broken off, and are an INCREDIBLE eyesore.

I do not want to cause "bad blood" in the neighborhood but I'm starting to boil as sometimes I have to maneuver to get out of my own driveway.  Any idea where to start to resolve this problem?

Thanks much for any information.

Answer
Well the first thing you can do is to try and talk to the neighbors about this issue.

But you might not get anywhere with that.

Now the City might have some laws regarding derelict vehicles or abandoned vehicles which can be used to get them to clean up the property and remove the vehicles.
But as a rule that requires a complaint to be filed and those are generally public record also.

Good luck with this, and I wish I could offer more advise to you.
