Towing Issues: Damage to splash shield, small claims court, parking curb

Question
2003 Mazda Protege was towed from a beach in Florida (wheel lift)and when we retrieved the car there was damage  to the splash shield underneath the driver's side (it was pulled loose).  How would this be caused?

Answer
there are lots of things which can cause damage to vehicles, including if it was parked over a parking curb. When it would be lifted the other end would go down and that can cause it to be pulled loose or bent.

There are a lot of things, including untrained operators who do not know what they are doing, or not hooking up the tow truck properly to the vehicle.  Or just a plain old bad day for the operator.

Talk to the tow company and see what they say. They may not help but who knows. And there is always the small claims court if you do feel like you are wronged.
