Towing Issues: illegal tow of vehicle, small claims court, contempt of court

my vehicle was towed(determined to be abandoned)we had a probable cause hearing and the judge found no probable cause existed for removal.she ordered the person who called the tow co.to pay.the man appealed the courts decision(not the tow co).the company says however,that they are continueing to hold my vehicle as collateral for the debt the court said the person who called should pay.how do i retrieve my vehicle?

short of paying the tow bill yourself and then going back to court to get repaid, the wait for the other person to pay will most likely be a long one.

And I hate to say this but a lot of people even if they lose in court tend to not pay till it comes time to go to jail for contempt of court type issues.

You might be able to sue the person in small claims court for any money you pay out, and you might even get 2 or 3 times the amount. But then again the saying "cannot get blood out of a turnip" comes to mind...
Talk to the courts and see what they say they can do, as that might help.
