Questionhow can i get out of this? they sold my vehicle at a lien sale and i still owe over 1000 dollars. they said the next step is to take me to court. what can i do. i'm not even working right now.
Answerin many states, there are laws which allow for tow companies to sell your vehicle for what ever they can get at auction and then go after the balance of the towing and storage fees from you, the vehicle owner.
California, Florida are 2 of the states which come to mind right away.
Working or not, I really hate to say it, but you know how collection agencies work, and you will have a hard time battling this I believe.
Hope that you can do something, but it would all depend on the judge when you go to court.
