Towing Issues: TOW LINES, yellow paint, bad joke

WE LIVE IN A APARTMENT IN TAMPA FLORIDA. THERE ARE PLACES THAT HAVE YELLOW PAINT WITH NO SIGNS. WE PARKED HERE SEVERAL TIMES LIKE A LOT OF OTHER PEOPLE. WE WENT OUT TODAY AND THE CAR WAS GONE IT HAD BEEN TOWED. WHEN WE CALLED THE OFFICE THEY SAID IT WAS A FIRE PARKING. NOTE IVE LIVED HERE FOR OVER 2 YEARS AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM TILL NOW CAN YOU TELL ME THE LAWS FOR PARKING IN SUCH A PLACE

Just because you parked there before does not mean it is right.
Generally if a curb or area has yellow (caution) or Red  (NO) paint then it means there is some kind of reason or regulation on parking in that area.

Now Florida has many rules and regulations regarding towing and the Tampa area has more to add to the pile. It gets confusing fast, and I would love to provide more information but it is hard to find online and I know there have been some changes recently (Like in last month or so to some laws)

But it does sound like someone finally decided that it was time to enforce the rules and regulations. Signs really need to be posted at the entrances to the complex in order to comply with most laws and there might have to be some kind of markings on the ground where you parked but remember that "PAINT WEARS OFF" when driven over many times. So that might be one of the issues here and maybe an excuse why you do not see any markings.

But remember the one rule, if its red or yellow (and sometimes blue) that means there are conditions or rules about parking there.
