Towing Issues: Tow truck rates, tow company, hook up

When a tow truck tows your car, do you get charged one way to the location you choose, and do they charge you for their return ride to their shop?

Answer
some places charge hook up and mileage both ways, some one way, while others charge by the hour.
its generally up to the tow company owners to determine what they charge and how they do it.


It all depends on where they are as in some states towing rates are regulated.

And break down towing is totally different than accident towing or impound towing from private property or police ordered tows.

There is no one answer which fits all.
