Towing Issues: How to tow my 2007 Xterra, car dollies, nissan xterra

Question
Hi, I'm moving halfway across the country and I have to tow my 2007 Nissan Xterra (NOT a 4x4) behind the rented moving truck.  Does it have to be put on a car carrier or can a dolly be used?
Thanks!

Answer
You could use a car dolly as long as the rear wheels were loaded in the dolly. Meaning the vehicle is towed backwards. My opinion for that distance is a trailer. There is no wear and tear on your vehicle, a trailer helps protect against road hazards and some car dollies can be finicky. Good luck
