Towing Issues: just need to know, local police department, vehicle identification number

i just want to ask who do i contact or how do i find out if a vehicle is stolen from Missouri ? i was wanting to buy a vehicle with a old out of town license plate that don't have a title with it but i don't want a stolen one!

Well this is a different question than normal.

I suppose that you are right to be worried, but its not that often that things like this happen.

I suppose if you got the VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) and the license plate and asked your local police department to check and see if its stolen then you could be safe.

But there are some really good and talented thieves who really do a great job at hiding the fact that the vehicle is stolen.
