Towing Issues: car towed in arvada colorado, puc rules, arvada colorado

I was towed in front of a school when I ran something in to my kid. I came out and the driver was hooking up my car and he told me it was now his property and that I could not touch it. Friends are telling me that Colo. PUC rules say that if you show up while they are hooking it up that they have to put it down. They now have my car and want 350$ to get it back. What can I do?

Without knowing how long it took for you to retrieve your vehicle, $350 for a simple tow away and a day of storage seems quite excessive. Was the vehicle in storage for a number of days? Was additional equipment or labor required to remove the vehicle? The last time I reviewed Colorado's code there was a drop fee but is it possible you didn't have payment for the drop fee?
