Towing Issues: towing fees, storage

my gradfathers car was towed last night from the complex where he lives, he lives in Irving but the car was towed and taken to FtWorth.. They want us to pay $200 or more to release the vehicle.. Is that legal to charge us that fee????

Yes, unfortunately that is legal. You can check with the state towing board to make sure there is not a list of fees that they must comply with, but as far as I know there are none in Texas that that amount would violate. I guess part was for towing, the other for storage?
