Towing Issues: flatbed towing problem, tow truck drivers, 2007 ford taurus

Question
I had my 2007 Ford Taurus towed yesterday.(12/20/09), because it would not start because the starter failed. The tow truck driver reached under the car and attached chains, one on either side of the car and then put the car in neutral. He pulled my vehicle onto the flatbed and re-attached the chains to the front of the car(one left and one right) and used another device with a crank to torque everything tight. I picked up my car from the dealer today, after they installed a new starter. As I was driving out of the dealership lot, I immediately noticed that the gauges in the dashboard directly in front of me are off kilter. The needles work, but I can see light shining out from underneath the gauges, as if they were moved up about a quarter of an inch. Does this mean that my frame was bent by the tow truck driver? What could have caused the mechanism that holds the gauges in place to move? How can I get this checked out, can my local ford dealership tell if the tow truck drivers actions are what caused the gauges to move? Could bouncing around on the back of a flatbed tow truck have caused stress the area under the windshield and caused something to bend? I'm confused as to how worried I should be about this. I don't want to wait for it to escalate into a bigger issue before I get it "fixed".

Answer
The dealership should have been able to tell if they put a starter on it, but they may not have been looking. It would be very unusual for towing to have caused damage to the dash area, but not impossible. It would have taken a lot of pressure but a Taurus is a uni-body vehicle. I would look more towards the dash instead of the frame.
