Answer
Who is the finance company? As for the lien, do you have anything requesting you to do repairs on the vehicle? As long as you have the required paperwork assigning you the authority to repossess the vehicle then you are covered on your fees, however the storage is a matter of contract between you and the finance company. Most repossession companies do not charge their clients storage up to a certain degree. Do you have an agreement with the finance company that allows for you to charge storage? Some storage rates vary but most are around $20 per day unless it is inside or covered. You can however file for an abandoned vehicle title. This requires notifying the lien holder and most times the last registered owner in writing that you have the vehicle in your possession and it has not been claimed. Usually these notices are required within a limited time, but, as long as you can document your contact with the finance company you can argue that they had the opportunity to pick the vehicle up. Let me know what you've gotten so far and I will get more info.
