Towing Issues: tow, tow truck, state laws

Question
If I was parked in a private parking.. in an apartment complex, and the owner asked my car to be removed and the public safety calls the tow truck and i come out prior to them hooking the car up but they back the truck into my car can i asked for them not to tow my car and just get the fine? According to some dmv laws and civil codes they must release the vehicle immediately, however the parking officer said that it was too late.  I am trying to fight it do you think i actually have a chance from the information i have given you?

Well I can not answer that as you did not mention where this happened. Each state has different laws and then add in the ones which Cities have, it gets confusing fast.

In California and other locations there are times when the tow truck cannot charge for just "SHOWING UP" without being hooked up.  In other areas they can charge.

It all depends on the City, and State laws where you are at.  

Sounds like you are doing the research and you might find out what the laws are and if they were broken.
