Towing Issues: how to find justice, private property owner, dmv ca

Question
ok, well if the towing company is not following the laws. and they have our car, what can you do, who do you report them to, pretty much how to take proper action against them?

I'm in California, San Bernardino

Answer
It depends on if this was ordered towed by a police department, or by request of a private property owner.

And then what kind of laws are being broken in your mind.  Not taking your check, credit card, not being open without fees at 3AM, or on Federal holidays when banks and government offices are closed.

Or did the tow company break the rules - Vehicles Codes which California DMV has?

And as I asked before, WHAT RULES...

Have you checked out California VC 22658 and seen if they really did break the rules. That one covers most of the requirements in it.

here is the VC link  http://www.dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d11/vc22658.htm

Start there and see what rules are broke, and then try DMV and see who they say to complain to.

That or take the tow company to small claims court and see if the judge agrees and rules in your favor..

This general question leaves a lot of information out, and I can not give specific answers without specific information.
