Towing Issues: whos fault?, rental contract, parking enforcement

my car was towed from my apartment complex.we don't have assigned parking spots,its 1st come 1st serve.i parked in spot with no lines ,well most of the parking spot don't have lines,they are all unclear.well the point is that there was no 'no parking'sign  where my car was parked.i had to pay $260 to get my car out.is it my fault

To properly answer the question more information is needed such as State, city and or county. Depending how the vehicle was parked it is possible to have a legit argument if the parking spaces are not clearly marked. Also if parking enforcement is not clearly expressed in the rental contract and notices were not given such as tagging or displayed towing enforcement sign the odds could be in your favor.
