Towing Issues: Can i sell my police impounded car?, state dmv, romulus mi

I live in Romulus MI and my car got towed for improper plates ( i have the original plate it is expired though) and no insurance while my husband was driving, can i sell my vehicle to someone and let them get it out? The lady at the impound lot said i would have to get a 7 day insurance on it and i cannot do this because my license is suspended for at least another month...

I really do not have an answer for this question as it would be hard to really sell it and then let someone else get it out...  It might be able to be done, but I would check with the state DMV and maybe the agency who had it impounded...
