Towing Issues: Tow trucks, police, and one car accidents, motor vehicle accidents, proper authorities

I am curious about the laws for towing vehicles in the state of Iowa. If I were to get into a one vehicle accident and call the tow truck, does the tow truck have to call the police if it will be blocking the road way?

The short answer is "YES" if you didn't report the accident to the police then most towing companies are in violation with state laws and possibly the police authorized tow list if they proceed. The police what to know: who, what, when, where and how the accident occurred. All motor vehicle accidents which involve wildlife and property damage must be reported to proper authorities, it's the law. In most states the law is different on private property.
