Towing Issues: Towing Damage to a 94 Toyota Corolla Gli A/T, spark plug wires, distributor shaft

Question
I flat-towed my corolla gli a/t for a distance of a kilometer when its distributor failed not knowing that this can do damage to the transmission.  When the distributor was replaced, the car started to run ok.  But then I noticed oil in the spark plug well and on the spark plug wires.  What kind of damage was done to the transmission or is this related to the flat towing I did?  Thanks!

Answer
COULD THIS, DID THIS ???

I hate these kind of questions...

As to towing the vehicle with the drive wheels on the ground, its really hard to say if you did damage the transmission but the chances are there for it to happen...

Oil on the spark plug wires and such. I take it you do not have any pre existing oil leaks where you might have the valve covers leaking and causing this to happen...

Is the oil black or red...  Engine oil is black, transmission fluid is red...

And when the distributor was replaced, could any oil have leaked onto the plug wires and such from the bottom of the distributor shaft which is oil lubed ??

As to damages which might of happened towing your vehicle, well the transmission fluid might of overheated and burnt, you could of had it get hot enough to overheat gears and bands inside the transmission. You might have it get so hot that it "welds transmission parts together" and you would not be able to get it to move at all. You could of not done anything at all... I really can not say what did happen and most likely no one at all can until it has a problem and is taken apart for repairs...

Sorry for not providing a specific answer but its hard to on these "what could have" questions.
