Towing Issues: Towing, ticket revenue, motorclub

Question
I work for a small towing co. We have contracts with 2 police depts. We also do towing for many lots (private prop.) My question is one of the lots we have to call the police and they have to give it a ticket when the other lots in other cites do not do that. By the time the police get to the lot we loose 5 cars is there a state law in NJ that we have to wait for them to give the tickets or can we just tow them like the other towns?

Answer
If your state or city requires police intervention, I suggest you follow through. By not waiting for authorization it might be viewed as cheating the city from parking ticket revenue or worst---grand theft! You only need ONE screw up to put you in litagation. Police have there procedures as you have yours. The police don't care that you are losing business, the police enforce laws. I know it's not what you want to here but as one motorclub rep once told me "if you don't like it then don't do it". Any other questions, just ask.
