Towing Issues: How To Tow A Vehicle, dakota 4x4, dodge dakota

I have a 2000 Dodge Dakota 4x4 and i wanted to tow it but many people have told me that my transmission could get messed up and that to take of the axles i have to remove both of them and that it is not very easy so another friend told me that i could turn the truck on and just put it in nuetral and that i would not have to do anything to it What Can I Do?

You could turn the truck around and tow it. As long as it is only in two wheel drive, the front wheels will spin free and clear. The reason one would usually disconnect the driveline is because it is easier to tow. The engines weight being at the back makes for a much rougher ride. If you decide to tow it backwards, make sure to tie the steering wheel off to keep it from turning the front wheels. This is in addition to the manual lock the steering wheel may have
