Towing Issues: Jerky movements when pulling tandem trailer, 2007 nissan titan, max payload

Question
I have a 2007 Nissan Titan w/tow pkg pulling a 10000# class dual axle electronic brake trailer and live in Crofton, MD. Whenever I pull, either empty or loaded w/6700 lbs of equipment, the ride is jerky.  I turn on the tow mode.  The ball and coupler are 2 5/16" on a 6" drop 12000# capacity hitch to bring everything level.  I am having the electronic brake controller installed but I don't see how that could help on the jerky accelerations.  Any suggestions?  Air pressure in the trailer tires?  Thanks.

Answer
aahhh since this is not my area of expertise I will try to answer it as much as I can.

I show that the Titan has the following specs..

Weights: gross vehicle weight rating (lbs) 6,522, curb weight (lbs) 5,323, gross trailer weight braked (lbs) 7,200 and max payload (lbs) 1,198

now if the Gross Trailer weight allowed with brakes is 7200 pounds and you are hauling loaded at close to that weight you are most likely feeling the combined weight of the total combination...

There will always a bit of trailer slop in hitches and all that... Also some times you will have enough wheel base with everything that you are hitting bumps just right to cause it to jerk and bounce.   I get that on some bridges when in tow with semi trucks...

Brakes, not likely as that would affect stopping mainly unless it is dragging a bit... But without a controller you should not have that problem unless a brake is out of adjustment ...
