Towing Issues: Towing a trailer behind a travel trailer, tow truck driver, hollow tubes

Question
Can I tow a trailer behind by travel trailer?  If so, what is the capacity of the travel trailer bumper?  I have a 2005 model 27 foot Wildwood with no slide out.  I would like to tow a small aluminum boot or light trailer to hold two fourwheelers.

Answer
I really have no answer for this, as far as I know most travel trailer bumpers do not have a tow capacity rating... I could be wrong but this is really out of my area of expertise..

One thing to consider however is that you will be adding weight to the travel trailer which adds to the total weight being towed, which in turn might overload your tow vehicle.

Follow up for Marty...

While I am a tow truck driver, and my area of expertise is towing BROKE DOWN SEMIS, BUSES, LARGE MOTOR HOMES, and the like, I have seen people towing trailers behind travel trailers...

I would look at the bumper you want to hook a trailer hitch assembly to...

Is it bolted on ?
Are they Grade 8 bolts ?
Is it welded on ?

I have seen some trailers that the rear bumper is the holder for the drain hose for the septic tanks... Others are just hollow tubes...

There are a lot of variables for this answer...

Sorry that I do not know the answer, but I will tell you that if you broke down with your pickup and travel trailer, our rates to tow it would be $ 150.00 an hour time out to time in...
