Towing Issues: Towing 4Runner behind RV, towing guide, four wheels

My father would like to pull his '97 4 cylinder manual transmission 4 Runner four wheels down behind his RV.  Is this possible/safe/okay to do?  Thank you.

Yes, it is one of the vehicles recommended for this.  Only the manual transmission version.  

Here is a web site, click on the older towing guide and it should apply to your even older version.  They do say no faster than 55 mph, and stop every 200 miles and run the engine, see their specific recommendations.
