Towing Issues: Towing Problem, tow truck company, chevy tahoe

Question
I recently ran out of gas and had to get my tuck towed by my roadside assistance. They came and when they dropped my truck off I noticed a black oil like substance leaking from the car. When I went to drive it the brakes weren't working. I am thinking this was because the brake line was damaged during the tow. Possibly hooked up wrong to the chains? Now the tow truck company wont call me back; I even tipped him 20.00 when he dropped my car off.

I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe

Is this a common problem?
What would you suggest I do next?

Answer
Well, while this seems like it would be a common problem it does happen from time to time...  Not sure exactly how or what style of tow truck did the tow, but when chains are used  (or even straps) they can contact brake lines which are usually run in the "most in the way" places...

Now it might be that they did pinch or break a line... It's usually not a huge deal to repair or replace the line...

As to them returning the call, I have no idea on why not.. They could be busy, they could be trying to talk to the driver, they might just be ignoring you. I can not offer an answer there for you...
I would try talking to them and if they want to have them come inspect the vehicle and see what happened and what to do about it... They have to look at it first before they deny or admit they did something...
Towing companies get so many complaints about over charging for services and possible damages, that it does take a few days sometimes to get back to the customer...

Hope that helps, sorry for the problems.
