Towing Issues: Towing by Police, ontario plates, lifes lessons

I live In Edmonton and my truck was parked in its stall with Ontario plates on it still. The truck is not registered but is on private property. Mgmt. did not complain and an officer towed my truck for blocking an alley and not being registered in AB. Can he legally do this or can I get them to pay for the tow as well as the impound fees?

well Canadian laws are harder for me to find, but from what it sounds like you are stuck with the tow bill...  If the vehicle is not registered you are usually at fault and liable for all towing fees.   

As to legally ordering a tow, heck the police have all sorts of power to do things. Even on private property.  

I think you are going to have this be one of lifes lessons and you are out the money.
