Towing Issues: Towing a vehicle, kia sorrento, flat bed trailer

We are going to be moving and trying to figure out if there is any way to pull our vehicle with the rental truck.  We have 2 cars and will be driving a truck but only 2 of us.  Is there anything that will tow about 4500 lbs?  My Kia Sorrento is like 4400 and is lighter than the wifes minivan.  Everything I've seen is rated to like 4200 or so.

Most truck rental companies rent trucks that have a high enough capacity to haul most normal vehicles.  They also have the trailers to rent also.  I would use a regular flat bed trailer so all the wheels on the vehicle being towed are off the ground, then you don't have to worry about transmission issues.

Depending on what minivan you have, it is possible that the Kia is heavier than the minivan.  Not many 2WD minivans weigh over 4000 pounds.

Check with a company like U-haul.  I bet they have a combination that would work just fine.
