Towing Issues: towing in a parking space, possesion, garage door

Question
I live in an apartment complex with an assigned parking in front of the complex (off street). In front of each assigned parking spot there is a garage that the mangement rents out to non- tenants as well as tenants. There is a white line drawn two feet in front of each door. My car was towed from it's assigned spot because the mangager said the car was overlapping the white line and blocking the garage door in front of the space. I was wandering if a I had an hope of recovering the towing cost I had to pay to regain possesion of my car. I had already spoke to the onsite manager he said that he had the legal right to tow my car and the porperty manager never returned my calls about the issue.

Answer
It seems to me that if your car was blocking the garage door so it could not be opened that your going to be towed. The correct thing to do was for the manager to come and get you, assuming it was during normal hours and a manager was on duty, and ask you to move your car. I doubt if they will give you your money back. There should have been signs posted about vehicles being towed if not properly parked. If you are in California check out my blog at sftow.blogspot.com
