Towing Issues: Towed after I paid, tow truck company, small claims court

Question
I live in Baltimore city in the state of Maryland.  I parked my car and paid 5 dollars to park there. I left my car overnight and it was towed early the next morning.  There are signs indicating "patrons parking only" for a restaurant in that I had visited.  I am interested in going to Small Claims Court. Is it worth my time?  Are there formalities that the property owner and tow truck company must perform to tow?  I have no receipt to prove that I paid however all cars must pay to enter the lot during the night.  I have a receipt for my dinner from the restaurant that rents the parking lot.

Answer
Well the receipt for the resturant is good, but then there is nothing that says you paid for the parking lot fee.

And for the vehicle to be towed away, someone either the property owner or the manager of the property has to sign for authorization to remove the vehicle.

Small claims court is always an option, I can not say if you will win or lose. But usually you have a chance to get the fees paid to the towing company back.

As a side note, the parking overnight is usually a key issue as the resturant maybe closed at lets say 11pm.   At 5 am there is no way that anyone can legally be considered a patron of the resturant ..

I know so of this is not what you want to hear but its the best answer I can give
