QuestionI wrote on June 6th about my truck being held at the yard for 2 1/2 months before I was notified about it's whereabouts.
I inspected it yesterday and found the vin number, easily, under the hood on the passenger side. The operator is charging $876 for the towing $175 and $50 a day for storage. They said this is the legally charged maximum. They are starting a lein sale.
They said they could not find the vin. so waited for the Highway Patrol investigative dept to find it. Does the operator have an obligation to look beyond the dash or missing licence plates for the vin? As I said it was easy to find.
Answerwow $ 50.00 a day storage, I got to store cars there instead of here in Alabama.. LOL
I answered the prior question, and they are not obligated to do extensive searchs, but in practial terms, if they can find it faster then they can dispose of it or notify the owners faster..
