Towing Issues: getting car towed after accident, motor vehicle accident, palmdale blvd

Question
Me and My fiance were involved in an accident on friday june 2nd 2006.We were driving down palmdale blvd and 15th st (california). After we dealt with the cops and having my fiancee be driven by ambulance to the hospital I moved the car to a parking space right next to the place where we had the accident..its been 3 days since then..I saw the car on the way home from the hospital but i havent been able to go and see if its still there...Will My fiancee get a ticket for being the driver or will my dad get the ticket for being the registered owner of the car..and how will I know if they have towed the car?? Will we have to pay for it since we really dont want it anymore?? What do we do?? Thank you for taking time in reading this...

Answer
let me get this straight,  you were involved in an motor vehicle accident where you had to leave the vehicle parked on the street in a space.

You have seen the car at least 1 time since then.

Now, you state you do not want the vehicle, so that tells me that its not worth anything to start with..  Well California state law holds the last registered vehicle owner responsible for any and all towing and storage fees.

Ticket,  well if your fiance was driving then he would get any tickets for what ever the police citied him for.. The owner of the vehicle would get any parking tickets for it being left at the scene...

I would check on it, and if its still there then get it home where you will not be responsible for any more fees other than towing it to the house or junkyard if you get rid of it..

Sorry  but this is really just a basic question, as people do not leave trashed vehicles on the roadside and expect it to just go away...There is a responsible party for it..
