QUESTION: I have got a 2003 Toyota avensis, manual, 1ZZ engine which showed a check engine light and after diagnosis it produced the code P0420. what can be the cause and remedy for that problem. The performance is good only that light is worrying. please assist

Here in the US the converter can be purchased by non Toyota sources which are much cheaper than Toyota factory, around $400 USD. Plus any labor charge if you have it installed. Check around for your location and also see if there are any suppliers online that ship to you.
