Toyota Repair: Brake relay for 1995 Toyota Avalon

Hi.

Where is the location of the brake relay for a 1995 Toyota Avalon.  They said under the hood, but we cannot find it.  My brake lights are not working.  We replaced all the bulbs even the 3rd light.  We checked the brake light switch and the fuses.  The only thing left would be the brake relay, if there is one?  What else could it possibly be?  Thanks for you help.  Elaine

There is a rear lamp failure relay that could be the cause it is located under the carpeting in the trunk on the left side inner fender, pull the carpeting back and look for the relay, it is mounted on a metal brace on the backside and has an electrical connector on it.
