Toyota Repair: failed 96 corolla smog test

Hi ,
     About a month ago I had failed a California smog test , I did complete tune up , started using highest gas and even got the stuff that guarantees pass additive for gas. Then when I went back to retest , he said that the machine wouldn't let them smog because of not enough information ....the battery was disconnected drive it for 100 miles ??????? I don't understand , cables were never disconnected, check engine light was never on , What should I do to fix this ? Please help,

Hello, most likely the computer did not complete all of the monitor tests, the reason they told you to drive it is so that the computer can do this self test, this can take some time even a few days. The first time you went to have it tested what was the reason it failed?
